As a follow up to the workshop on November 16 - 17 2017, Ministries of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS) and of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KPPPA) together with UNICEF and PUSKAPA started the process of developing a background study for the next mid-term development plan (RPJMN) 2020-2024 for Child Protection. Non-discriminatory child wellbeing, development, and protection priorities will be set based on the findings and recommendations of this study. This meeting agreed that the next RPJMN will provide cross-sectoral and cross-life cycle policy direction for child issues for the next five years.
This activity is a part of cross-sectoral meetings to be held until April 2018. Bappenas, through the Directorate of KPAPO (Family, women, Children, Youth, and Sports) facilitated these workshops by raising several topics, including: (i) evidence for child protection, policies and programs, (ii) identification of global, regional and national commitments related to child protection, (iii) budgeting and performance measurement mechanisms.
